The wing - How do u BBQ chicken wings..  people usually bbq steak but forget about the almighty chicken wing. The wing tastes great if BBQ correctly.

 

Tips - there is no need to put BBQ sauce on at the beginning - a good tip is to put a bowl of sauce in a mixing bowl and then put the wings in it towards the end.

 

BBQ wings is a real treat as you can get real BBQ wings at the restaurant unlike steak... ... restaurant BBQ wings are breaded fried wings with BBQ sauce thrown on them.

 

You can badly burn the chicken wing if u aren't careful ... my BBQ heats up to 600 F plus on high - throw your wings on this and then turn the heat to medium. Your wings will cook faster than you think. Go get some BBQ sauce and throw it into bowl. Come back 5 mins later, throw wings into BBQ sauce, throw back wings on BBQ. I'm lazy and cheap so I purchased my wings whole with the actual extra wing attachment so they take longer to cook.

 

Ideas to throw into BBQ sauce mixture - tomato based BBQ sauce, garlic salt, paprinka, sea salt, pepper, hot sauce, tabasco ... you can be creative with the sauce.

 

if you like Buffalo style, remember its just melted butter and hot sauce ...

 

No wonder hot wings are ridiculous bad for you - its a freakin deep fried chicken wing encrusted in deep batter then dipped into a thick butter and hot sauce mixture.

 

BBQ wings reduce the oil, starch coating and the butter its basically fat free. I've never meet a girl who doesn't like a chicken wing.

Apparently Harvey is having free hamburgers Sunday from 10:30am to 3pm. I wonder if this is truly true. So everyone is a fan of Harvey's Hamburgers... its the Canadian Hamburger joint where you can create your very own custom made grilled burger with all the toppings you want. The Vanessa burger is ketchup, onions and oh pickles. Their burgers are pretty terrific especially the Angus burger.... so about a decade and a half ago, my family was embroiled in a little legal not so friendly battle with Harvey's Hamburgers... its was poor chinese immigrants vs the corporate food giant. anyways, so my mom placed the "Harvey's Hamburger ban".. no one was allowed to eat at Harvey's Hamburgers ! What the ...! But mom, they are real super duper tasty. (and back then, they also had the good fries too) Double whammy. How was I suppose to make friends at university mom ! How am I going to date a nice quiet chinese girl mother !

Oh, and you can't eat Swiss Chalet either b/c its run by Cara Operations which is the actual litigant since they owe and operate both restaurants. What the &T*5^! But mom, Swiss Chalet is soo good and no swiss chalet sauce. Why are you ruining Christmas mom! How am I suppose to eat the Swiss Chalet Festive Special mom with the Tobelerone!

This was bordering on ridiculous ! A ban on both Swiss Chalet and Harvey's Hamburgers. Talk about growing up in a tough environment . I should turn of turned in a gansta rapper and b*itch and rap about how I wasn't allowed to eat Harvey's and Chalet Swiss to capitalize on the ever growing demand for hip hop moguls...anyways

Finally after 5 or more years, the ban was lifted and now I can proudly say I can eat Swiss Chalet chicken and Harvey's Hamburgers without any soup up'd angry chinese woman yelling at me. "Always good for so little"

Lesson of the day "When making decisions whether supporting family or Harvey's hamburgers always have the legal facts to make an impartial decision and extra pickles on the side please"

Ouch, its expensive ... I never realized it ... most lots are $3.50 to $5 per 1/2 hour ! Luckily, I found the city lot for $1.50 per 30 mins (on St. Charles). I had to shop for a gift for my mom's bday. So I hit Holt's and some shops along Bloor my old hometown. I hate to pay for parking.

 

Things to get your loved one on Bloor if you are ever there:

 

Shades - Holts has a good selection of shades. Compared to other products, this is a very reasonable yet lavish gift.

 

Things not to get -

 

Purses - a purse will cost you at least $750 for a tiny one and you will not $750 worth of love back.

 

Never set a precedent with a too expensive gift as the next gift the "expectation" will be too much. You need to manage expectations.

I went to a city hall wedding this weekend. They have weddings up to 8pm on weekends.

 

I also got a new dig camera .... initially, I was planning on getting a sony cybershot 8 megapixel but then got sucked into the new 10 megapixel that just came out. It had a larger touchscreen and a better zoom. New features on the cameras: face detection, smile shutter which automatically takes pics when u smile - it really works.

The touchscreen is pretty neat and you can edit pics directly on the camera which is cool. You can draw with on the pic like MS Paint.

 

I also got a few tee shirts at this discount depot ... then when I got home, realized they forgot to pull of the security tags, damit... it was too far to drive by given the fact the shirts were a few bucks so i ripped them off... one successfully and one not so successfully. You can actually youtube how to break open security tags ...
