12月30日 Merry Belated MexicomasYes, my blog and I are back from Mexico. Here is the link to photos of the trip. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=78428&l=eb3ea&id=664675106
The hotel had ahi tuna sashimi for breakfast in their buffet ... so needless to say, I ate enough ahi tuna and omelettes to last me until 2009.
I'm back in Calgary now. Went Boxing day shopping today ...
Got a pair of Raybans at Sunglass Hut for $55 and slippers at Old Navy for $3. I downsized on the glasses and actually got a pair of small glasses .. (reversing the sunglass trend of superbig glasses) ... orginally I wanted a pair of wrap around plastic ones put I like the $55 pricetag too much ... its funny how price sways you... I think they were $175 regular and they only had about 10 pairs on sale. (out of thousands) .... I'm noticing a trend, I don't buy stuff unless its at least 75% off.
Also got a Navigation system for the hybrid. The navi's that you buy at store are pretty incredible .. only $200 and has voice guided directions with a TOUCH colour screen. No German automobile comes with touchscreen. Ridiculous. I don't get it... how can Bestbuy sell a $200 portable device and car companies can't put one in.
Can someone tell me why anyone would buy a big screen tv before Christmas when one day after it, everyone tv drops a thousand bucks or so? 12月19日 Random Xmas stocking stuffersQuick stocking stuffers before I end off to Cancun tomorrow.
My blog apologies for lack of content ..
So
- Wedding stuff in Calgary - My mom wants me to get a nice shirt for "engagement pics" so she takes me shopping at the Lacoste store.. there I try on a myriad of supercolourful shirts while Eva and Mrs. Chu crititique them.. it was like a 10 year old child shopping with his mom for pants. I ended up with this colourfilled "euro" cut shirt and well, all I have to say is its a EURO fit . I'm not eurofitted friendly.
- I didn't get any Xmas gifts but instead Eva got a gift instead of me ... do I sound like a 10 year old child whining?
- I test drove the new Turbo and will write a full review of it . No turbo lag, eurofriendly and gas friendly.
- What I usually do at Xmas is buy a gift for my mom at the Holt Renfrew outlet store and then go in the basement to get a nice fancy pink Holt Renfrew box with HR wrapping paper in her basement and wrap it as an un-outlet store gift. Its Christmas traditional.
- I'm back on boxing day. Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnite. 12月13日 Always Google Research your Gift givingI finally got Maria her rechargeables today. niMH is the new standard for rechargeables (and not the old Ni-Cads) ... and I got the 2500 power ones ... every year, like TV size, the output power on rechargeables are higher they typical start at 1500.
I hope they work ... I'm sure Maria was like WOW, thats a dam good gift ... but then opening it and then not working after 10 mins was like that cheap b*stard !
Well, I needed to get rechargeables for her b/c you can't buy someone a gift and then expect them to fork over money just to use the product. Its like giving half a gift. Hey, here you go, I will give you tee shirt but the buttons are extra and cost about 25% of the tee shirt but you don't even know how to sew. Thats a stupid analogy but its late and my blog hasn't written much lately.
Oh, I got it, its like giving someone an Armani suit two sizes too large and they have to fork over alot of money to alter it.
Holiday side notes -
Wal-Mart is open freakin 24 hours !
So I'm at Wal-Mart at 10pm and its a zoo and a Wal-Mart cat fight almosts erupts of line-up etiquette... there was two lines aisles for "self scan" and two semi-lines formed ... this couple wanted to switch to the other line b/c a self serve kiosk opened up but was interupted by the person saying in line. THERE ARE TWO LINES - this line is only for this line... pretty petty .. then a minute later, karma happened and the other lane 2 open kiosks opened and the same person switched lines. I guess it only referred to her line. It was really funny seeing her face and she was stumped when the other line opening up and she really wanted it. It was okay for her to go but not others but that would of be immoral.
I don't get why people buy clothes at Wal-Mart, its pretty crappy stuff and it really isn't that cheap. Consumer products like detergent, toothpaste, mouthwash are great deals but thats about squeezing margins not designer cotton.
The Hills finale - whoooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, the new 90210
Lauren is Kelly, Heidi is Valerie, Justin Bobby is that dude who robbed Brenda at the Peach Pit, Spencer is Steve Saunders, Brody Jenner is Brody freakin Jenner, Audrina is Tori Spelling
Hills question of the day, how does Krista from Laguna Beach feel, she was the star of that show and then Lauren comes out on top of the world.
![]() 12月11日 Buying Christmas Gifts for Staff and FamilySo I went to get Maria a gift today ... I was looking around and then figured out maybe a digital camera would be a great idea ... only thing was the pricepoint. A dig camera is more than my typical $75-100 budget. So I quickly jettison to Bestbuy as they have this US price match thing ... their cheapest dig camera was $130. I was discourage since I still needed to get a $40 memorycard. So they I went to Wal-Mart across the street and they had a few camera's in the 100 range !
Wooohooo.. I got this cool Samsung looking one ... it was pink and looked highend ... I got a 1 Gig memory card for $15 and then gave Maria her new Dig camera .. she seemed quite excited to get her first dig camera . Then I get a call from her daughter after dinner and she tells me the camera is broken after they played with it for a few minutes. Damit !!!! uck me....
Lesson - don't pretend to look generous and then you get screwed with inferior quality products..
Well, I quickly googled the camera and then found on all the reviews, battery life was for only minutes with the test batteries they give you so I will now have to get her rechargeable batteries !
Usually the digital cameras over a certain price point come with an automatic recharger ... but the "cheaper" ones work on AA batteries which last for about 5-10 minutes according to most message boards.

Well, I'm sort of settled in ... its been alot of work ... and adjustment ...
I've done more housework in the last 2 weeks than my 7 plus years at my condo.
There is no Bank downstairs from in my basement, no subway there either .... doing stuff requires a drive but the driving is not very congested ... When I first moved to Yorkville, traffic was not very much but slowly as the Louis Vuittons of the world grew, traffic grew ...
There have been two snowstorms in Toronto already which is weird .. I'm usually in Mexico for "these snowstorms". I got the 2nd last shovel at Canadian Tire the afternoon of the first snowstorm. There should be a snowstorm on Christmas as I will be in Mexico then.
One of my Christmas wishes already came true. The recall ban on Complete contact lense has been lifted and now are back on the market.
Unfortunately, it was one of my low priority wishes.
Random things I did while my blog was inactive for its longest period in my blog history.
- Saw SuperBad - it was SuperAwesome - one of the best movies of the Year - along with Transformers
- Saw the HeartBreak Kid with Ben Stiller and was super funny too despite the poor reviews - Stiller is still funny and hasn't yet got the nonfunny gene that most comedies get after a couple of hit comedies (see Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Jim Carrey, etc)
- Went to see Yao Ming play at the Air Canada Centre - first Raps game of the year for me and I saw this sign about the ACC "food combo" - you get one hot dog, one pop and one popcorn for only $11.99 ! Yes, that was their "deal" - they even had the nerve to tell us that you save $6.99 when you buy the combo ! Yes, you save $6.99 when you buy this combo !
- I went shopping at Lululemon this weekend and holy crap are they ripping people off for overpriced spandex. Girls really want their asses to look smaller than they actually are. They salesperson keep on checkin out her bum in her pants every sec while I was waiting there. Their pants are $90 ! (shorts are $70) Alterations are free.
